A key question

Congratulations! You’ve moved in to your new home and it’s an exciting time for sure. The kids have picked their rooms and you’re deciding on new paint colours. Perhaps some new furniture is arriving and plans are being made for what’s going to be planted in the new garden beds.

But wait!

Like a lot of people who currently live in established neighbourhoods, maybe your new neighbour has a key to your home. Could it be that the in-laws of the former owners have a set too or that maybe there is one “hidden” under a rock in the front yard?

If you have bought new construction, there’s a very good chance that your new house can be accessed by the builder’s entire crew.

A bonded locksmith can change those tumblers for you in about an hour or, if you are handy, you can do it yourself. It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind and the safety of your family and belongings.

So get those locks changed! Have a couple of extra keys cut and stash them away so that you can choose who will have access to your home - not the other way around.
